Vol. 9 No. 13

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - A CONFISCATED GUN.

SEAN O LAIDHIN

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that a gun and cartridges, valued at £15 12s. 9d., the property of Mr. T. Plunkett, Tullywood, Baylin, Athlone, was confiscated by Irish Volunteers on July 7th, 1920, and to ask if the gun cannot be returned whether the claimant will receive compensation.

A claim for compensation on behalf of the person named by the Deputy in respect of the articles referred to is amongst those transferred recently from the Ministry of Defence for reference to the Committee appointed under the Indemnity Act, 1924. The claim will be considered by the Committee in due course.
