Vol. 10 No. 6

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - SECONDARY TEACHERS' INTERIM GRANT.

asked the Minister for Education whether he will now say if he has obtained the sanction of the Minister for Finance for a supplementary distribution of the surplus of £11,708, remaining out of the interim grant for secondary teachers for the current financial year, and, if so, whether he will cause this supplementary distribution to be made with the least possible delay.

With regard to this question and the next one in the Deputy's name, which refers to the question of the initial minimum salaries of teachers, I have been requested by the Minister for Education to apologise to the Deputy as he has had to leave town on account of a bereavement, and he would like the Deputy to put the questions down for the next day on which the Dail sits. If the Deputy, however, desires it, written answers could be sent to him in the meantime.

Mr. O'CONNELL

I would be glad if the Minister would send written answers.
