DAIL IN COMMITTEE. - DAIL EIREANN COURTS (WINDING UP) BILL, 1925.—FOURTH STAGE.

I move amendment No. 1:—

In page 2, lines 28 and 49, to delete the words and figures "31st day of March, 1925," and substitute the words and figures "30th day of April, 1925," and in line 33 to delete the words and figures "1st day of April, 1925," and substitute "1st day of May, 1925."

The effect of this amendment is to postpone for one month the date upon which the Act will come into force. It was anticipated that the Bill would become law in time to become operative on the 31st March, but it is obvious that it cannot become law in time now.

The next two amendments are designed to have the same effect. The amendments, which I move, are as follows:—

In page 3, lines 1, 9, 17, 22, 40, 41, 52 and 57 to delete the words and figures "1st day of April, 1925," and substitute "1st day of May, 1925," and in line 47 to delete the words and figures "31st day of March, 1925," and substitute "30th day of April, 1925."

In page 4, lines 3, 13, 20, 26 and 31 to delete the words and figures "1st day of April, 1925," and substitute "1st day of May, 1925," and in lines 8 and 17 to delete the words and figures "31st day of March, 1925," and substitute "30th day of April, 1925."

Amendments put and agreed to.

Motion made and question put—"That the Bill, as amended, be received for final consideration."— Agreed.

Fifth stage ordered for Friday, 6th March.
