Vol. 10 No. 10

CEISTEANNA.—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - PRE-TRUCE COMPENSATION AWARD.

I will ask Question No. 2 on behalf of Deputy McKenna.

The Deputy, I suppose, has no authority from Deputy McKenna, but no matter.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that Mr. Patrick Doolin, of Annagh, Ballykeeran, Athlone, was awarded the sum of £175 compensation in December, 1923, for the destruction of his out-offices by British forces; if he can now state whether the Compensation (Ireland) Commission has considered this case, and, if so, what amount has been awarded, and when payment may be expected.

No award in favour of the person named by the Deputy has yet been received from the Compensation (Ireland) Commission, and the question of payment does not therefore arise. It is understood, however, that the claim is at present under investigation, and any award made will have immediate attention.
