Vol. 11 No. 8

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - COMPENSATION CLAIM (COUNTY GALWAY).

asked the Minister for Finance whether he has received from Michael Joyce, of Leenan, Glanagimla, Co. Galway, a claim for £850 compensation for personal injuries and damage to property caused by British military forces on the 22nd March, 1921, and if so, what action has been taken as a result of the receipt of this application.

The application of Michael Joyce for compensation in respect of personal injuries was considered by the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee, who recommended that no compensation could be paid under their terms of reference. The applicant was informed accordingly. An award of £10 2s., and £1 1s. costs, made by the Compensation (Ireland) Commission in respect of his application for compensation for damage to property has been discharged.
