Vol. 11 No. 10

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ACQUISITION OF KILDARE FARM.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether he is aware that there is a farm of two hundred and eighty acres, consisting of one hundred acres of arable land and the remainder of bog land, in the townland of Ardkill, Carbury, Co. Kildare, about to be advertised for sale in the daily Press; that the owner, Mr. Thomas Flanagan, died about the 20th March, 1925, leaving no heirs and without making a will; and whether he will instruct the Land Commission to expedite the acquisition of this farm for distribution amongst the numerous congests and landless men of the neighbourhood.

Mr. HOGAN

The greater portion of the lands referred to were purchased under the Land Purchase Acts, and the Land Commission do not propose to take any action regarding their acquisition under the provisions of the Land Act, 1923.
