Vol. 11 No. 20

PHOENIX PARK BILL, 1925—FIRST STAGE.

I move for leave to introduce a Bill to make provision for continuing the maintenance and regulation of the Phoenix Park, Dublin, as a public park and the preservation of order therein and for other purposes connected therewith. It has been felt for a long time that it is necessary to have legislation defining more clearly, than at present, the powers and duties of the Commissioners of Public Works, in regard to the maintenance and regulation of the Phoenix Park. This Bill has been introduced to give effect to that. As a matter of fact, during the British administration Bills were prepared, three or four times, for this purpose, but were never presented.

Question put and agreed to.
Bill read the first time; ordered for second reading for Tuesday, June 2nd, 1925.
