Vol. 12 No. 6

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DATE OF POST OFFICE EXAMINATION.

TOMAS MAC EOIN

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is yet in a position definitely to announce the date of the examination confined to Temporary Sorting Clerks and Telegraphists for appointments to the rank of Post Office Assistant Grade "B."

I am informed by the Civil Service Commissioners that they are not at present in a position to name a definite date for this examination, owing to the pressure of other examinations, for which arrangements are already in hand. It is not likely that the examination for Grade "B" Assistants can be held before October next.

Would the Minister take into account the undesirability of naming dates for forthcoming examinations and then not keeping to them?

It is certainly undesirable.
