Vol. 12 No. 13

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - BLIND PENSION CLAIM (DROGHEDA).

TOMAS MAC EOIN

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state what were the grounds of his determination that John Kirwan, of 9 Oulster Lane, Drogheda (Pension Officers' Register No. 1736), is not entitled to a pension under the Blind Persons Act, 1920, in view of the facts that the claimant's blindness has been certified by a local medical practitioner and that the local Pension Committee passed the claim.

This claim to a pension under the Blind Persons Act was disallowed on appeal on the 7th April last on the ground that the claimant does not fulfil the statutory condition of blindness.
