Vol. 13 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - RAILWAYS SUPERANNUATION FUND.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is in a position to state whether the Great Southern Railways Company have yet taken any steps towards the preparation of a scheme for a Superannuation Fund as required by Section 57 of the Railways Act, 1924.

I am informed by the Great Southern and Western Railway Company that they are at present engaged on the preparation of a scheme for a Superannuation Fund as required by Section 57 of the Railways Act, 1924. The actuaries who are investigating the matter require a very large amount of information, not only in connection with the present staff, but in regard to employees who have left the service within the last ten years, and the Company inform me that they fear it will be some time before they are in a position to submit the scheme.
