Vol. 13 No. 9

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ILLEGAL SEIZURE OF CREAMERIES.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state whether any steps have been taken by his Department to bring to justice those who were responsible for or took a leading part in the illegal seizure of the creameries of the Condensed Milk Company of Ireland in 1922; if he is aware that many of the leaders of the men who were in open and unlawful possession of those creameries are now at large and that evidence as to their culpability is easily obtainable, and if he will take measures to see that every effort is made to bring to justice those who were responsible for an act which caused great losses to farmer suppliers to the creameries and to other parties.

No steps have been taken to arrest and bring to trial persons responsible for the seizure of the creameries of the Condensed Milk Company of Ireland in 1922. It was considered proper and expedient to give to those concerned the benefit of the Amnesty Resolution passed by the Executive Council.
