Vol. 13 No. 11

POLICY OF THE MINISTER FOR EDUCATION. - SHOP HOURS (DRAPERY TRADES, DUBLIN AND DISTRICTS) (AMENDMENT) BILL, 1925.

Deputy Hennessy desires to move a motion in connection with the Committee Stage of the Bill, of which he was the promoter yesterday evening.

I propose:

"That the Shop Hours (Drapery Trades, Dublin and Districts) (Amendment) Bill, 1925, be referred to a Special Committee of eleven Deputies, to be nominated by the Committee of Selection, the quorum of the Committee to be seven."

Would it be desirable to give that Committee power to send for persons, papers and records, if they wish to inform themselves further on the problem?

This is a Committee on the Bill, rather than a Committee of Enquiry, but, of course, that is a matter for Deputy Hennessy. When the Committee has been nominated by the Committee of Selection, I would take a further motion about it if necessary.

Question put and agreed to.
