Vol. 14 No. 3

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - A COMMANDEERED GUN.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he can now state when the claim of Mr. Michael Davis, of 5 Clayton Terrace, Chapelizod, for compensation for the loss of a commandeered gun, which cannot be traced, will be dealt with, and whether he is aware that there has been considerable delay in dealing with this matter.

The claim referred to by the Deputy is at present under investigation by the Committee set up under the Indemnity Act, 1924, and it is hoped to dispose of it at an early date. There has been no avoidable delay in dealing with this particular claim.

Can the Minister define "an early date" rather more systematically?
