Vol. 14 No. 15

FORTHCOMING LEGISLATION.

Before we proceed to the ordinary business I would ask the President to give us some idea of the Bills that will be introduced when the House reassembles. Is there any hope that a Bill for the relief of Dublin jurors will be introduced? Will the Army Pensions Act be extended to deal with tubercular and accident cases?

The Jurors Bill is in course of drafting. It is not an easy Bill to deal with and it cannot be hurried. I hope to introduce it after Easter—soon after Easter. It is one of the Bills the draughtsman is at present engaged on.

Has the Minister for Defence any hope that a Bill for the relief of tubercular and accident cases amongst ex-National Army men will be brought in soon?

An amending Bill in connection with the 1923 Act is being prepared. It will be brought in as soon as possible after Easter. I cannot indicate the scope of the Bill at the moment.
