Vol. 14 No. 16

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - TRIM (CO. MEATH) R.I.C. BARRACKS.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he can now state if it is intended to reconstruct the old R.I.C. Barracks at Trim, Co. Meath, this year, or whether it is intended to dispose of same, with its spacious grounds.

It has not yet been decided whether it will be necessary to restore the ex-R.I.C. Barrack at Trim for the accommodation of the Gárda Síochána or for other Government purposes, and no provision for the work has, therefore been included in the Estimates for next year. If it is ultimately found that the property is not required for Government purposes, the question of disposing of it, subject to the provisions of the State Lands Act, 1924, will be considered.
