Vol. 16 No. 17

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - AMENDMENT OF GAME LAWS.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware that Coursing Clubs which have entered into agreements for the preservation of lands for sporting purposes with the owners of such lands, have been in some cases unable to secure convictions against poachers except the clubs were able to produce in Court the owners of such lands, notwithstanding the production of a proper agreement duly signed by the owner, and whether he will consider the question of giving some relief to Coursing Clubs in the matter in any legislation he intends to introduce for the amendment of the Game Laws.

The question of facilitating prosecutions by Coursing Clubs for trespass in pursuit of game will be considered in preparing the Bill for the amendment of the Game Laws.
