Vol. 16 No. 21

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - MULTYFARNHAM O.A.P. CLAIM.

SEAN O LAIDHIN

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state why an old age pension has not been granted to James Murtagh, Ballaphort, Multyfarnham, Westmeath; if he is aware that a sworn affidavit has been signed by three old persons, to the effect that the applicant was born in Whitehall, in the Parish of Mane, in the year 1856, that his father's name was Thomas Murtagh and his mother's maiden name, Ellen Farrelly, and that the applicant was baptised by the parish priest at the time, and whether taking these facts into account, as well as the destitute position of the applicant, he will now have the pension granted.

I am having inquiries made in this case and will communicate the result to the Deputy in due course.
