Vol. 17 No. 7

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ACQUISITION OF GALWAY LANDS.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether inquiries promised in his reply to a Parliamentary Question of the 22nd April, 1925, regarding the acquisition by the Land Commission and division among congests of the land occupied by Mrs. Pye, in the townland of Ardagh, on the estate of Dr. Foreman, Co. Galway, have yet been completed, and what is the present position in the matter.

The lands referred to are tenanted lands occupied by Mrs. Eliza Pye on the estate of Dr. Foreman, which is being dealt with by the Land Commission under the Land Act of 1923. The Provisional List for this Estate was published on the 24th August last.

It is anticipated that Mrs. Pye's holding will be gazetted at an early date as a retained holding, with a view to its resumption for the relief of congestion.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether the negotiations with the owner of the estate of John Martin, Co. Galway, regarding the acquisition of the lands situated in the townland of Lisduff, referred to in his reply to a Parliamentary question on the 11th March last, have yet been completed, and, if so, what is the present position in the matter.

Mr. HOGAN

The negotiations of the Land Commission with the owner regarding the lands of Lisduff have not yet been completed.
