WRITTEN ANSWERS. - LAND COMMISSION AND INSPECTION OF ESTATES.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if the Land Commission have so far inspected the Grogan Estate, Screggan, Offaly, with a view to having same acquired and divided under the Land Act, 1923, and if he can now state the present position of the Land Commission in this case.

Mr. HOGAN

The lands referred to have been inspected, and their acquisition is under consideration by the Land Commission.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if the Land Commission have yet inspected the lands of Mr. Gilligan, Ferbane, Offaly, with a view to having same acquired and divided under the Land Act, 1923, and if he can now state what the Land Commission propose to do in this case.

Mr. HOGAN

The Land Commission have had the untenanted lands of Falsk, in the possession of Mr. Gilligan, Ferbane, Offaly, inspected, and a proposal to purchase same, issued by them, was accepted by the owner.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if the Land Commission have yet inspected the lands known as the Rathrobin Estate, Mountbolus, Tullamore, Offaly, with a view to their acquisition and division amongst the large number of uneconomic holders and landless men in the district, and if he can now state the present position of the Land Commission in this case.

Mr. HOGAN

The lands referred to have been inspected, and the owner has accepted the price offered by the Land Commission. A scheme for the division of the lands is being prepared, but it is not at present possible to state when the lands will be divided.
