Vol. 17 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CLARA PENSION CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he has received an application for an old age pension from Mrs. Elizabeth Clarke, 19 Clashawan. Clara, Offaly, and if he is now prepared to sanction payment of same or state the reason why he is unable to do so.

An appeal has been received in this case against the decision of the Tullamore Pension Sub-Committee of the 25th September last, disallowing on the ground of age the claim for an old age pension. Further inquiries are being made concerning the applicant's age, and upon their completion a decision will be given.

Will the Minister say on what date was the decision sent to him in connection with this matter, and how long does he propose to continue making inquiries before giving a definite announcement?

I will have to make other inquiries, and I do not know how long they will take.
