Vol. 17 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DIVISION OF CO. CLARE ESTATES.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he would state the number of estates divided for the relief of congestion in County Clare under the provisions of the Land Act, 1923, the total area of these estates, the number of congests relieved by such distribution, and the number of evicted tenants dealt with under that distribution.

Mr. HOGAN

Up to the present date 1,061 acres of untenanted land on 5 estates in County Clare acquired by the Land Commission under the Land Act, 1923, have been divided amongst 32 allottees, of which 633 acres have been allotted as enlargements to 24 congests. No evicted tenants have received parcels on these lands.
