Vol. 18 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - MUSEUMS AND PICTURE GALLERIES.

asked the Minister for Education whether any discussions have taken place between representatives of the Government of the Saorstát and representatives of the Government of Northern Ireland with reference to the question of museums, picture galleries and other public collections in Dublin, as provided for in Paragraph 14 of the agreement known as "Heads of working arrangements for implementing the Treaty," arrived at between the British and Irish Governments in 1922, and whether the contents of the institutions referred to in the arrangement are now vested exclusively in the Saorstát.

The answer to the first part of the question is "No"; and to the latter part, that in so far as the contents of the institutions referred to were vested in the State prior to the Treaty, they are now vested in the Saorstát.
