Vol. 18 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CO. ROSCOMMON UNTENANTED LANDS.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether the untenauted lands in the townlands of Killer, Caraun, and Fohenagh, on the estate of Wm. Glover, in the Parish of Ballintubber, Co. Roscommon, have yet been inspected by the Land Commission, as promised in his reply of the 3rd February, 1926, and whether, in view of his further promise that the matter would be dealt with as expeditiously as possible, he is in a position to say when these lands will be divided among the uneconomic holders of the neighbourhood.

Mr. HOGAN

Mr. William Glover held a number of farms in the County Roscommon, and the Commissioners have already acquired 156 acres of Rathfuadagh townland, and are at present proceeding under Section 24 to acquire 200 acres of Tonlegee.

The lands referred to in the question appear to be held by William jointly along with two other brothers, and are residential.

The further acquisition of these lands which are not contiguous to congestion has been deferred pending a full investigation into all the various holdings of the Glover family.
