Vol. 18 No. 3

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ACCOMMODATION FOR POSTAL AND PARCEL BUSINESS IN DUBLIN.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether, in view of the need for adequate and more suitable central accommodation for the transaction of postal and parcel business in Dublin, he will state when it is proposed to proceed with the erection of new offices for the transaction of this business.

It is proposed to concentrate the postal work generally, including parcel work, at Pearse Street, and plans for a new office on this basis are in course of preparation.

Can the Minister give any indication as to when the construction of the new building will be proceeded with, in view of the dearth of suitable accommodation for that class of work?

I realise the urgency of this matter but there is some difficulty in regard to leases. The matter is being expedited.
