Vol. 18 No. 12

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - INCOME TAX REFUND CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Finance if Mrs. Bridget O'Dwyer, Caher Cottage, Feakle, County Clare, had an annuity of £50 left to her by her deceased brother; whether the accumulated arrears of this annuity, totalling £400, less £100 Income Tax, was paid to her in 1925; whether the Revenue Commissioners admit that she is entitled to a refund of this amount of £100 deducted; whether they have not paid it; if each year since they have deducted the sum of £12 10s. from her annuity, thus making the total so deducted approximately £140, and whether all requests for a refund have been ignored.

An unvouched claim in the matter was received by the Revenue Commissioners on 1st April, 1926. The agent who presented the claim failed to obtain the necessary voucher until last week. On the receipt of the voucher the claim was allowed and repayment will be made shortly.
