CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ACQUISITION OF CO. KILDARE LANDS.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he will state what progress has been made in acquiring the untenanted lands near Newbridge, County Kildare, held by Mr. Patrick Bobbett, consisting of one hundred and eighty-two acres in the townland of Kilbelan, electoral division of Morristown-Billar, and eighty-one acres in the townland of Kilbelan (township of Newbridge), electoral division of Newbridge Urban, for the relief of congestion, and whether he will expedite the acquisition and division of those lands.

The offer of the Land Commission for the purchase of the lands of Kilbelin, containing 272a. 3r. 31p. or thereabouts, in the occupation of Patrick Bobbett, has not been accepted by the owner, and the Land Commission are at present considering what further steps they will take in the matter.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether he will state the result of inquiries made by the Land Commission as to the suitability of the lands of Nurney Demesne, in the electoral division of Nurney, County Kildare, comprising about two hundred and sixty-six acres on the estate of Mr. William Hanley, for the relief of congestion, and whether he will expedite acquisition and division of these lands.

The lands referred to, comprising 260 acres situate in the townland of Nurney Demesne, have been purchased under the Land Purchase Acts, and the Land Commission are not prepared to take any steps with regard to the acquisition.
