Vol. 19 No. 13

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - PUBLIC BODIES' LIABILITIES.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health what steps have been taken by his Department with reference to the sum of £1,200 due by the Irvinestown Board of Guardians to the representatives of the former Ballyshannon Union.

There are several instances of Poor Law Unions that embraced areas in the Saorstát and Northern Ireland where adjustment of liabilities may be necessary. I have had the matter under consideration for some time, but no action can be taken in individual cases until the full data are available, as the question appears to be one to be dealt with as a whole between the two Governments.
