REGULATION AND CONTROL OF ROAD TRAFFIC.

By arrangement with the Minister for Justice, and with the sanction of the Minister for Finance, a committee consisting of representatives of the Department of Justice, the Department of Industry and Commerce and the Department of Local Government and Public Health has been set up to inquire into and report as to whether, and if so, how far, the existing law relating to the control and regulation of road traffic in all its aspects requires modification, more especially in view of the growth in the use of various kinds of motor vehicles. The representatives of the Departments referred to are:—Department of Justice: the Commissioner of the Gárda Síochána and Mr. J.E. Duff, B.L. B.Sc.; Department of Industry and Commerce: Mr. T.J. Flynn, Transport and Marine Branch; Department of Local Government and Public Health: Mr. James Quigley, B.E., Chief Roads Engineer (Chairman), and Mr. H.S. Moylan, Secretary to the Roads Advisory Committee. The Secretary to the Committee is Mr. C.J. Whelan, Roads Section of the Department of Local Government and Public Health, 51 Upper Mount Street. It is expected the Committee will hold a preliminary sitting at a very early date.
