Vol. 19 No. 18

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFIT.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state what is the cause of the delay in paying unemployment insurance benefit to Mr. Victor McConnell, 76 Mount Pleasant Buildings, Ranelagh, Dublin, who has been attending at the local employment exchange for the past six weeks, but has received no benefit.

On a claim to unemployment insurance benefit made on the 21st March last by Victor McConnell, of 76 Mount Pleasant Buildings, Ranelagh, a question arose as to whether certain contributions paid for the applicant were properly payable under the Unemployment Insurance Acts. The necessary inquiries having been completed, the claim has been authorised for 26 weeks' benefit, the maximum amount payable in the benefit year, and payment of all benefit due so far is being made to-day.
