Vol. 19 No. 24

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - WAGES PAYMENT ON BARROW SCHEME.

asked the Minister for Finance whether in view of the hardships imposed on men working on the River Barrow Drainage Scheme by the long period between fortnightly payments of wages, he will give instructions that weekly payments be made in future.

It is the practice of the Commissioners of Public Works to pay wages fortnightly on all arterial drainage works in the Saorstát—a practice that could not be modified, as suggested, without considerable extra cost.
