Vol. 19 No. 25

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - LIMERICK TOFFEE FACTORY DISMISSAL.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether he is aware that on the transfer of the toffee factory at Lansdowne, Limerick, to the purchaser under the creamery purchase scheme, one of the clerical staff, named McMahon, after twentythree years' service, has been dismissed with one month's salary as the only compensation; whether it was part of the agreement or understanding that any employees found to be redundant would be given other employment or compensation paid, and whether the Minister can make any statement to remove doubts and fears now prevalent regarding their future employment amongst the staffs of the old company.

Mr. HOGAN

In this case also I will write to the Deputy.
