Vol. 19 No. 25

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - HOME-MADE BUTTER.

asked the Minister for Finance whether the statements made by the Minister at Wexford on the 8th instant, as reported in the "Cork Examiner," with reference to home-made dairy butter was the policy of the Government, namely, that the Government were proposing that the making of home-made dairy butter should be compulsorily stopped, prohibited, or otherwise interfered with, and, if so, what compensation it is proposed to give to those merchants and others who are and have been for the past century conducting the business connected therewith for the benefit of the country and those engaged in the industry.

I have not seen the statement referred to by the Deputy, but my remarks on the subject were not on the lines indicated.
