Vol. 20 No. 3

SUPPLEMENTARY ESTIMATE: VOTE NO. 57 (RAILWAYS). - MOTION FOR LEAVE TO INTRODUCE.

I move:—

"That leave be given by the Dáil to introduce the following Supplementary Estimate for the service of the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1928, viz.: Vote No. 57 (Railways)."

This motion is to enable a further advance to be given to the Londonderry and Lough Swilly Railway Co.

Mr. WHITE

I desire to say something in regard to the grant of £6,500—

The motion is for leave to introduce a Supplementary Estimate. If leave is granted, the Supplementary Estimate will be introduced, and it will then be open for discussion.

I would like to know if the Deputy is going to object to the Supplementary Estimate that the Minister is to move?

That will arise when leave is given to introduce it.

I thought the Deputy objected.

Mr. WHITE

No, I do not object.

Has the original Estimate been passed yet, and if not, is there any need to bring in a Supplementary Estimate?

That is a question for the Minister for Finance.

I am satisfied to let my motion go before the House.

Leave granted; the Estimate to be taken on a date to be fixed later.

Mr. WHITE

Can I proceed now?

The Estimate will be taken on a date to be fixed later, and on that date the Deputy can proceed.
