Vol. 20 No. 4

SUPPLEMENTARY RAILWAY ESTIMATE.

On a point of order, I asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce a question last evening respecting the Supplementary Estimate for the Londonderry and Lough Swilly Railway. The estimate was postponed at the desire of the Minister. Deputy White and I understood that it was to be taken to-day but on looking at the Orders of the Day I do not find any trace of the estimate on it.

I think leave was given yesterday for dealing with the Supplementary Estimate that Deputy Law mentioned but no order was made. When the question of taking the Supplementary Estimate was discussed last evening on the Minister's main estimate an agreement appeared to have been reached that the Minister would consult Donegal Deputies so that a time would be agreed upon with them. Nothing definite was done about it. The Minister is not present now but presumably he will be ready to take the estimate at some time that would suit Deputy Law and Deputy White.

Mr. WHITE

I saw the Minister late last night and he arranged that the estimate would be taken to-day immediately after the Currency Bill.

If the House has no objection presumably it can be arranged when the estimates are reached that the first one taken will be that dealing with the Londonderry and Lough Swilly Railway.
