Vol. 20 No. 11

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - DRAINAGE AT SHANAGOLDEN.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether he is aware that in the case of the Davies Estate, near Shanagolden, £400 was lodged by the vendor a considerable time ago, and that £950 of the agreed purchase money was retained, making a total of £1,350, for drainage and embankment works, and that the lands of various holders remain waterlogged; and whether any works have in fact been carried out by means of such fund in furtherance of the purpose of same.

The Commissioners have the question of the embankment and drains on this estate under consideration and are not yet in a position to give a decision in the matter. In the circumstances, I would ask the Deputy kindly to repeat this question.
