Vol. 20 No. 13

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - TREE PLANTING IN WEXFORD.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if and when he intends to introduce legislation which will enable Fort Mountain, in County Wexford to be planted; whether he is aware of the recommendations of the Inspectors of the Forestry Department who visited Fort Mountain, and declared it very suitable for tree planting.

Mr. HOGAN

It is my intention to include in a Forestry Bill provision to cover the acquisition of Fort Mountain and other lands; but I am not in a position to say at what date this measure may be introduced. In regard to the concluding portion of the question, the district is regarded as moderately suitable for forestry purposes. Much would depend upon satisfactory boundaries being fixed.
