Vol. 20 No. 16

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - MAINTENANCE OF OLD AGE PENSIONERS.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is aware that, under the existing law, an old age pensioner becomes disqualified for a pension on entering a County Home, and whether in view of the heavy burden cast on the ratepayers of the county, year after year for his upkeep, he will take such steps as are required to hand over the pension to the institution responsible for his maintenance.

This is one of several matters concerning Poor Law Administration which has been before the Commissioners, whose report is expected in a few weeks time.
