Vol. 20 No. 20

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - UTILISATION OF AERODROMES.

asked the Minister for Finance whether the buildings, with lands attached, of Collinstown, Gormanstown and Tallaght Aerodromes, are at present in use, and, if not, if he will state for what purpose it is intended to utilise them; whether, if suitable for factory purposes, any steps have been or are being taken by his Department to bring these buildings and lands under the notice of those likely to be interested in acquiring such for industrial purposes.

These three cases are in different stages of procedure; at Gormanstown the buildings are still occupied for military purposes; at Collinstown they have ceased to be occupied for military purposes, and we have already brought them under the notice of the local authorities, and we are considering bringing them under the notice of other possible lessees; at Tallaght the buildings ceased to be occupied for military purposes some time ago; a portion of them was let to the Urney Chocolate Company in 1924, and we are in treaty with the South Dublin Rural District Council to let another part. Agricultural lands not required for military purposes are let for grazing.
