Vol. 21 No. 3

ORDERS OF THE DAY. - COUNTY COURT APPEALS BILL, 1927—SECOND STAGE.

Order for Second Reading read.

I beg to move the Second Reading of this Bill. It is a small Bill. Some time ago there were a considerable number of appeals from the old county courts, and since the assizes have been done away with there was no method of disposing of these appeals except to appoint four Commissioners. Unfortunately before he signed all his decrees one of the Commissioners, Mr. Swayne, died, with the result that it has been necessary for us to bring in this Bill in order that the County Registrar may sign in the name of Mr. Swayne these particular decrees which come from the County Galway, County Mayo and County Roscommon, which are set out in the schedule.

Question—"That this Bill be now read a Second Time"—put and agreed to.
Third Stage (Committee) ordered to be taken to-morrow (Thursday).
