Vol. 21 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - REEN (CO. CORK) JETTY.

asked the Minister for Fisheries whether he proposes to have steps taken for the repair of the timber jetty at Reen, County Cork, which was erected some years ago by the Congested Districts Board, and was partly destroyed by fire during the disturbances in 1922; also, whether he will consider the desirability of providing a guiding light for the benefit of fishermen in the Reen and Union Hall district.

I am already in correspondence about Reen Jetty, and hope to have the necessary repairs effected provided suitable arrangements can be made for further maintenance of the structure. The question of providing a guiding light for the local fishermen is also having my attention. As a matter of fact, Deputy Murphy, from the same constituency, has been in correspondence with my Department on it.
