Vol. 21 No. 9

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - ARMY PENSION CLAIMS.

asked the Minister for Defence if he has received a claim under the Army Pensions Act, 1927, from Mr. F. C. Costello, Bonnagappa, Geashill, Offaly, and if he is now in a position to state what award has been made.

A form of application under the Army Pensions Act, 1927, was received from Mr. Costello on the 2nd instant. The matter is being investigated. I will communicate the result to the Deputy in due course.

asked the Minister for Defence if he has received a claim under the Army Pensions Act, 1927, from Mrs. Delaney, Ballymaddock, Abbeyleix, Leix, and if he is now in a position to state what award has been made.

A claim under the Army Pensions Act, 1927, has been received from Mrs. Delaney. A decision has not yet been taken in the matter. It is under consideration, and I will communicate the result to the Deputy as soon as practicable.

asked the Minister for Defence if he has received a claim under the Army Pensions Act, 1927, from Patrick Mulhaire, School Street, Crinkle, Birr, Offaly, and if he is now in a position to state what award has been made in this case.

A form of application under the Army Pensions Act, 1927, was sent to Mr. Mulhaire on the 17th ultimo for completion, but has not yet been returned. A claim under the Army Pensions Act, 1923, was very fully considered, and it was found that an award in his case could not be justified.

asked the Minister for Defence if he has received a claim under the Army Pensions Act, 1927, on behalf of the widow of the late Private Doyle, Main Street, Banagher, Offaly, and if he is yet in a position to state what award has been made in this case.

The claim of Mrs. Brigid Doyle, Main Street, Banagher, in respect of the death of her husband, the late Patrick Doyle, is at present under consideration. There will be no undue delay in dealing with it.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he has received a claim for compensation under the Army Pensions Act, 1927, on behalf of the late John Brien, Belmont, Offaly, and whether he is yet in a position to state what decision has been arrived at in this case.

I do not appear to have received any application under the Army Pensions Act, 1927, in respect of Mr. O'Brien.
