Vol. 21 No. 14

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - HOUSE BUILDING IN GALWAY.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is aware that many persons in County Galway undertook the building of houses under the Housing (Building Facilities) Acts, in the belief that they would be given the remission of rates by the County County Council; that the remission of rates has been refused by the County Council, and whether, having regard to the desirability of erecting sanitary houses in substitution for insanitary houses, he will direct the County Council to grant the remission.

Instructions have already been given for the issue of an Order declaring it mandatory on this Local Authority to grant the partial remission of rates in respect of new houses provided by private persons under the Housing Acts in County Galway.
