Vol. 21 No. 14

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - REJECTION OF PENSION CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state why the report of the Bandon Old Age Pension Committee in favour of a pension of six shillings per week in the case of Mrs. Hannah Crowley, Coolsinnock, Kilbrittan, who is over 80 years of age, was rejected, and if further evidence in support of the claim is forthcoming whether the matter will receive favourable consideration.

The claim was disallowed on the grounds that the claimant's means, as calculated for old age pension purposes, exceeded the statutory limit for the receipt of a pension. I have no power to reconsider a decision given in old age pension cases.
