Vol. 21 No. 14

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - LOANS FOR FARMERS.

asked the Minister for Finance what steps are being taken at present to put the Agricultural Credit Act, 1927, into operation, and is he in a position to say how soon the loans provided for in the Act will be available for farmers.

The Agricultural Credit Corporation has been duly registered in accordance with the provisions of the Agricultural Credit Act. A prospectus will be issued inviting subscriptions from the public as soon as the new National Loan has been floated, when the Government will be in a position to do its share in financing the corporation. There will be no avoidable delay in making the loans provided for in the Act available for farmers.
