Vol. 21 No. 14

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CLAIM FOR INJURIES.

asked the Minister for Finance what steps, if any, have been taken to investigate the claim for compensation of Mrs. Katherine Shortall, of Annagortha, Ballykieran, Athlone, for injuries received on the night of December 31st, 1920, at the hands of British forces.

An application from Mrs. Katherine Shortall, of Annagortha, Ballykieran, Athlone, for compensation in respect of personal injuries alleged to have been received by her on the 1st January, 1921, at the hands of British Forces was fully and carefully considered by the late Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee, who, as a result of their investigations, recommended that no compensation should be paid. On consideration of the case, I saw no reason to depart from the findings of the Committee.
