Vol. 21 No. 14

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - ROSCOMMON HOLDINGS—QUESTION OF ACQUISITION.

asked the Minister for Fisheries if he can state whether the Land Commission will acquire the farm of Dooherty, Lisheen-Loughlin, Leitrim, and Corradrehid, Fourmile House, Roscommon (Estate Pakenham Mahon and A.J. Crichton, owner, Wilfrid J. Kelly, Roscommon); whether he is aware that the herd on this farm has been evicted, and is now destitute, and whether he will give a guarantee that the farm shall be taken over and sub-divided immediately amongst the herd and uneconomic holders in the district.

After inquiry and consideration the Land Commission have decided to take no further action with regard to the acquisition of the holding of Wilfrid J. Kelly, Roscommon, which is subject to the payment of a land purchase annuity.

asked the Minister for Fisheries whether it is the intention of the Land Commission to acquire the lands of Doonard and Doonardbeg, Strokestown, County Roscommon, the property of John Murray, Carntryla, Strokestown, and whether he can state when they will be sub-divided amongst the uneconomic holders of the district.

The question of the acquisition of the lands, the property of John Murray, Strokestown, is at present being considered by the Land Commission, but they are not in a position to say when the lands, if acquired, will be available for distribution.
