CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - PROCLAMATION OF A BANK HOLIDAY.

asked the Minister for Justice whether it is the intention of the Government to proclaim the 27th December as a bank holiday, as has been done in England.

The Executive Council have appointed Tuesday, the 27th December, 1927, to be observed throughout Saorstát Eireann as a bank holiday and also as a public holiday for the purposes of the Holidays Extension Act, 1875.

The proclamation was gazetted in the issue of "Iris Oifigiúil" of the 22nd instant.
