Vol. 21 No. 17

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - WATER SUPPLY IN KENMARE.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that the water supply in the town of Kenmare, County Kerry, is entirely inadequate for the population therein, and in view of this, and of the fact that this town is a tourist resort, the Minister will take the necessary steps to have an adequate water supply provided for this town.

A proposal for the improvement of the water supply of Kenmare has been made by the Board of Health and Public Assistance. There is a difference of opinion between the Board of Health and the County Council as to the area of charge, and the County Council postponed for six months the question of giving their consideration to the raising of a loan for the purpose.

The matter will be the subject of a public inquiry to be held in Killarney on the 8th December.
