Vol. 22 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CASTLETOWNBERE HOSPITAL.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state what progress has been made with the project of erecting the Hospital at Castletownbere, on the site of the old Coast Guard Station, and if in view of the fact that the people in this remote district are at the moment very much handicapped for want of suitable accommodation, early consideration would be given to this matter.

The approval of the Minister for Finance to the proposed lease has now been received. A statement regarding it is being laid before the Oireachtas in accordance with the State Lands Act, 1924. When approval has been received the Board of Health will be notified to prepare the necessary plans and make application for sanction to the raising of the requisite loan.
