Vol. 22 No. 2

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - AFFORESTATION IN KERRY.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture how much money for each of the years since 1922 has been expended on afforestation in the County of Kerry.

No funds during the period in question have been expended by the Department on afforestation in County Kerry, no land offered in that county having been regarded as suitable for purchase for afforestation purposes. Should any offers of suitable land be made to the Department, the fullest consideration will be given to the matter.

Mr. CROWLEY

The Minister is aware that there are many thousands of acres of waste land in the County Kerry available for the purposes of afforestation.

Mr. HOGAN

Waste land is not necessarily suitable for afforestation.
